Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dropped ("Dropped," "we," "us," or "our") handles information through the Dropped browser extension, savewithdropped.com, shopping features that connect to dealdropped.com, and the related backend services (collectively, the "Services"). Normal browsing of DealDropped's separate website is covered by its own privacy policy.
1. Information We Handle
Product And Shopping Information
When Dropped detects a product page, it may process and send to our backend information needed to understand the displayed product and find relevant shopping results. This may include the page URL, product description, displayed price and currency, product image, selected options, merchant, region, and product identifiers.
The extension may also collect and process comparable offer information returned by shopping sources, such as product descriptions, prices, merchants, delivery information, links, images, and identifiers.
Background Searches And Cookies
To collect comparison offers, Dropped may load Google Shopping or Amazon search pages in the background, in a hidden extension page or a temporary background tab, using product descriptions or identifiers and your selected shopping region. These requests use your existing browser profile, cookies and signed-in sessions; they are not separate private browsing sessions. The search sites receive the search terms and ordinary browser request information, such as your IP address and browser information, and may associate this activity with your account under their own policies. Dropped collects offer information from the search pages and is designed to close its hidden pages and temporary search tabs when collection ends.
During Google collection, Dropped may automatically accept Google's cookie prompt, including a separate Google consent page, only in its own temporary Google search tabs, not on Google pages you open yourself. This can save an acceptance choice in your browser and affect Google's cookie use beyond Dropped. You can manage Google's cookies and privacy choices through Google or your browser; see how Google uses cookies and Google's Privacy Policy.
During Amazon collection, Dropped may automatically accept Amazon's cookie banner, only in its own temporary Amazon search tabs, not on Amazon pages you open yourself. This can save an acceptance choice for that Amazon storefront in your browser and affect Amazon's cookie use beyond Dropped. You can manage Amazon's cookie preferences through Amazon or your browser.
Coupon Information
Coupon lookup and testing begin only after you select Activate Rewards & Coupons. That same action first requests eligible rewards activation and affiliate tracking; it does not wait for a successful coupon. Dropped may process the merchant website, available coupons, test outcomes, savings, currency, timestamps, and limited information needed to perform and verify the requested action.
Coupon codes are tested locally in the merchant's checkout interface. Dropped is designed not to place or submit an order. The merchant will naturally receive the coupon-entry interactions performed on its site.
Cashback And Rewards Information
Where cashback is available and you choose to activate it, Dropped records a random activation identifier linked to your authenticated extension installation, together with the merchant, country, affiliate network, and activation time. The identifier helps reconcile eligible transactions reported by the network; it does not by itself prove a purchase or an earned reward. We may retain network transaction references, commission amounts and currencies, settlement evidence, returns, reversals, cashback allocations, and payout records for accounting, fraud prevention, and support.
You can activate eligible cashback before connecting an account. If you choose to connect a Google account, we verify the sign-in and store a pseudonymous provider-account reference and the account email address to associate your installation's rewards with that account. Google sign-in tokens are used to verify that connection and are not saved as rewards-account credentials. Your sign-in email becomes your default PayPal payout address; you may enter a different address without email verification. We store your chosen payout destination, authorization and audit references, payment amounts, and payment-provider references. Cashback availability and amounts depend on eligible commission and settlement; connecting an account is not a payment or a guarantee of a particular reward.
Affiliate Attribution Checks
Dropped checks some browsing information on your device for two reasons: so it does not replace another creator's existing affiliate attribution, and so it can tell when another cashback or coupon service has replaced an activation you started with Dropped. It looks at the web addresses your tabs load, including redirects. For 24 hours after you select Activate Rewards & Coupons, it also looks at the names and change times of known affiliate-network cookies. It does not read cookie values. From these checks, Dropped keeps only the store's domain, the kind of affiliate network or service it detected and the time, plus one-way fingerprints of links Dropped itself opened. None of this is sent to Dropped's servers. The only exception is a coupon lookup, which may include a yes-or-no indication that another creator's attribution was detected, so Dropped does not replace it.
Region And Preferences
Dropped stores settings such as theme, alert preferences, region, popup engagement, and sleep-state choices in the browser. Your shopping country may be selected manually or inferred from browser settings and IP-based location estimates. We may use an estimated postal code to request shipping estimates. Dropped does not request precise GPS location.
This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind.
Installation, Security, And Usage Information
The extension creates a pseudonymous installation identifier and security credentials so our backend can authenticate installations without requiring an account. We may process the installation identifier, extension version, IP address, browser information, request and security metadata, usage limits, error records, and basic server logs to deliver the Services, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect our infrastructure. Comparison requests may also include coarse measurements, such as how long each comparison step took and how many offers each source returned, which we use to keep comparisons fast and reliable.
Optional Website Account Information
If you choose to sign in on savewithdropped.com using a supported third-party sign-in provider, the sign-in provider and our authentication service process the sign-in. We may receive and store your provider user ID, name, email address, profile photo, account role, and account creation time. Dropped does not receive or store your password for these provider-based sign-ins.
Information You Provide
If you contact us, we receive the information in your message, such as your email address and the content of your request.
2. Information We Do Not Intend To Collect
Dropped is not designed to collect payment-card or bank details, passwords entered on merchant sites, private communications, or precise GPS location. Coupon lookup and coupon-related affiliate activation use only the merchant origin and do not send Dropped the checkout path, checkout query string, cart contents, shipping address, or payment details. Cashback activation may additionally use a canonical product link and variant identifier where the network requires a product destination, rather than a private checkout URL.
Product-page URLs are sent to our backend as part of price matching and therefore can constitute browsing activity. Before sending one, the extension removes the part after any "#" and recognized private parameters, such as session, cart, account or email parameters. Other parameters, including product and variant identifiers, may remain. We remove known tracking, session, and private parameters before sharing product URLs with external product providers where supported, but you should not assume every product-page URL is anonymous.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- understand products and provide relevant shopping results;
- look up and test coupons after your affirmative request;
- create affiliate links and attribute eligible user-initiated purchases;
- link optional rewards accounts, reconcile network-reported transactions and received commission, manage returns and reversals, manage payout destinations, and maintain cashback accounting;
- remember your settings and avoid unnecessary repeated scans;
- authenticate extension installations, apply usage limits, prevent fraud and abuse, and secure the Services;
- improve speed, quality, and reliability;
- debug errors, provide support, and improve reliability and performance; and
- comply with law and enforce our terms.
4. Automated And AI Processing
Dropped uses AI services to understand products and provide relevant shopping results. Our service providers may process product descriptions, reported product attributes and product images for this purpose. We do not intentionally send private communications, passwords, payment details, or checkout details to AI services.
5. When Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose limited information where needed to provide the Services:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) provides infrastructure, authentication, storage, logging, security, and AI processing.
- AI service providers such as Google, Anthropic and OpenAI may process limited product descriptions, reported product attributes and product images to provide shopping results, depending on which service we use.
- Shopping and product service providers may receive product information, product identifiers, region, and product links needed to return relevant shopping results.
- Affiliate partners, including Sovrn, may receive product, destination, affiliate, and campaign information needed to create eligible links and attribute qualifying transactions.
- Cashback attribution partners may receive a random activation identifier so their transaction reports can be reconciled with a rewards installation. Dropped does not put your account email or payout email in that identifier.
- Google sign-in verifies the account you choose when connecting rewards. If a payout is arranged, PayPal or the selected payment provider receives your saved payout recipient information and the amount needed to process and reconcile that payment. We do not verify ownership of a different payout email you enter.
- Merchants and affiliate destinations receive information ordinarily sent when your browser interacts with or opens their sites, including IP address, browser information, affiliate identifiers, and the destination URL.
- Authorities or transaction participants may receive information when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or connected to a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
These providers may process information under their own privacy terms. Google Cloud and other infrastructure providers may also process technical request information, including IP addresses and user-agent data, in providing and securing their services.
6. Affiliate Links
Dropped may earn a commission when you follow an eligible link or complete a qualifying purchase, generally at no additional cost to you. Shopping results may include affiliate links. Selecting Activate Rewards & Coupons starts eligible affiliate tracking before coupon lookup or testing, including when no coupon is available or successful. For activation, the extension may open a temporary background tab through an affiliate link or redirect to the merchant without navigating your checkout tab away. Merchants and affiliate partners may set or read cookies during that navigation. Dropped does not replace another creator's incoming affiliate attribution when it detects it.
Some shopping features connect to dealdropped.com. Our hosting provider may receive standard request information, including your IP address and browser information.
Affiliate partners determine eligibility, attribution, and commission amounts. A completed activation redirect is not proof that a merchant cookie was set or a purchase was credited; purchase cashback records are reconciled against eligible network-reported activity and commission received by Dropped.
Community Rewards: some merchants may use monthly reward pools rather than rewards tied to individual purchases. We use rewards participation records and your linked account to manage allocations and prevent duplicate awards. Connect your account before rewards are distributed to participate. Rewards depend on commission received.
7. Storage And Retention
- Browser storage: settings, cached information, engagement state, and installation credentials remain locally until they expire, are cleared, or the extension is uninstalled.
- Affiliate attribution checks: detected attribution and fingerprints of Dropped's own links are kept for up to 60 minutes. Records of activations you started with Dropped are kept for up to 24 hours. Both are held in browser session storage, which is also cleared when the browser restarts. If you allow Dropped in private windows, the records from those windows are kept separately from your regular windows, only in memory or browser session storage, and are cleared when the last private window closes.
- Service data: shopping and operational data is generally retained only for the period needed to provide, secure, and improve the Services.
- Coupon records: coupon attempt records are assigned an expiration time 90 days after creation. Actual deletion through automatic expiration systems may happen later.
- Security records: authentication, usage-limit, and security records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the Services, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Website accounts: account information is retained while the account exists and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, and operational purposes.
- Rewards and payment records: installation-to-account links, transaction and commission records, payout destinations and authorization/audit references, payment records, and reversals are retained as needed to administer rewards, reconcile funds, investigate fraud, resolve disputes, and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Clearing browser data or uninstalling does not automatically erase these server-side financial records.
Deletion performed through automatic expiration systems may not be immediate. Service providers may retain backup or security logs according to their own schedules.
8. Security
We use measures designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, signed extension requests, rotating installation credentials, restricted cloud access, quotas, and abuse monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices And Rights
- You can change Dropped's automatic-alert, low-confidence-match, region, and related settings in the extension.
- You can decline coupon testing and rewards activation by not selecting Activate Rewards & Coupons. Eligible affiliate tracking starts before coupon testing when you select it.
- You can choose not to connect a rewards account. To request a payout, you must connect your Google account and select a payout email. Your sign-in email is the default, but a different PayPal email can be entered and confirmed without mailbox ownership verification. Payouts require operator review, and a 24-hour security hold applies after setting or changing the payout destination. Unlinked rewards may not be recoverable if you lose the installation's credentials by clearing its data or uninstalling.
- You can clear the extension's stored data through your browser or uninstall the extension.
- You can sign out of the website and manage the selected sign-in provider from that provider's account controls.
- You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with a website account or identifiable installation. We may need information such as your account email or installation identifier to locate the relevant record.
Additional rights may apply depending on where you live. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where legally permitted or required.
10. Google API Information
Dropped's use and transfer of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Where applicable, Dropped's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. International Processing
Dropped and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. We use our providers and safeguards with the aim of protecting information as described in this policy.
13. Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We will revise the date at the top and, when appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use after an update means the updated policy applies to subsequent use.
